About these plans
Grade 3 is taught mainly through listening and speaking. Keep writing short and let pupils say everything before they write it. Stage times are for a 40-minute period; shorten them if your period is 30 minutes.
Every plan on this page was written by RCF English. The unit and activity names refer to the government Pupil's Book so that you can find the right page; no textbook text is reproduced here. Download it as an editable Word document or a print-ready PDF.
The four stages, and the colour each one uses

| Presentation | 10 min | Shows the new language in a clear context. |
| Practice | 12 min | Pupils use it in controlled tasks, usually from the Pupil's Book. |
| Production | 13 min | Pupils use it more freely, for a purpose of their own. |
| Check and close | 5 min | A quick check of learning, then homework. |
