How these games work

Choose a level

Beginner for first words and pictures, then Early Learner, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate. Each level tells you its CEFR band if you want it.

Choose a topic

Animals, family, food, colours, clothes, weather, jobs, feelings, phonics, spelling, grammar, sentence building and more.

Play and collect stars

Up to three stars a game. Stars stay on your own device: nothing is sent anywhere and no account is needed.

Two collections, one Game Zone

These Global English games are for learners anywhere. If you are following the Sri Lankan primary syllabus, the Primary Game Zone has games built unit by unit from the official Pupil's Books instead.

Which level to start on

Start below where you think the learner is. A level that feels easy for the first few games builds the willingness to carry on; a level that is too hard ends the session and often the habit.

Beginner needs no reading at all. Early learner puts words into very short sentences. Elementary begins grammar - articles, pronouns, prepositions. Pre-intermediate works on the past tense, longer sentences and reading. Move up when a whole topic is finished without a wrong answer.
