What this collection actually contains

21 papers, from 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026: fifteen from provincial departments, two from zonal offices and two written by RCF English. By term, that is two first-term, four second-term and twelve third-term papers, and there are also a model paper and a model answer.

The files are not stored on this website. Each paper opens in Google Drive. View the paper reads it in your browser; Download PDF saves it. Nothing is copied onto this site.

More papers are still being checked. A paper is added only after somebody has opened the file and confirmed what is in it, so this list grows slowly and will keep growing.

Using a Grade 11 paper well

Grade 11 is the O/L year: these papers are the closest practice available to the examination itself, and sixteen of the twenty-one are English Language with five English Literature.

  • Third-term papers are the most useful here - twelve of the twenty-one - because they are written to cover the whole syllabus, which is what the examination does.
  • Do at least three complete papers under full time, in one sitting, with no phone. Writing a whole paper is a physical skill, and the examination should not be the first time you have done it in a month.
  • Literature and Language need separate practice. A Literature paper can only be answered on the texts you have studied, so check the prescribed texts before using an older paper.
  • Keep two papers unopened until the last fortnight. Practice papers you have already seen cannot tell you whether you are ready.
