How to Use This Site
RCF English holds a great deal of material. This page shows you how it is arranged and how to find what you need quickly.
How the site is arranged
There are four learning sections, one resource centre, one section for teachers, and one for classes.
The four learning sections
O/L English, O/L Literature, General English and A/L Literature. Each one has a landing page that explains the subject, and a menu of lessons underneath it.
Past Papers
The Past Papers centre holds past papers, model papers, marking schemes, revision papers and question banks, with filters for subject, year, paper and type.
Teacher Resources
Teacher Resources holds lesson plans, worksheets, marking guides and support for mixed-ability and remedial teaching.
RCF Online Academy
RCF Online Academy describes the online classes conducted by Rohana Fernando, and how to ask about them on WhatsApp.
Three ways to find something
Use the menu
Every main section opens a menu of its pages. On a telephone, tap Menu, then tap the arrow beside a section to open it.
Use search
Search covers everything on the site. Every result tells you whether it is a lesson, a past paper, an activity, a class or a policy.
Follow the trail
Every page shows a trail at the top telling you where you are, and a link back to the section you came from.
If you are a student
Start with the syllabus page
Know the shape of the paper before you revise. It tells you what to spend your time on.
Learn writing step by step
Never begin a writing task by writing. Understand it, study a model, find the structure, then write.
Practise, then check
Do an activity, read every explanation, and repeat it a few days later.

Practical questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. Nothing on RCF English requires an account, a login or a password. The interactive activities run inside your own browser.
Does the site work on a telephone?
Yes. Every page is designed for small screens first, including the timetable, which appears as cards rather than a wide table on a telephone.
Will it work on a slow connection?
It should. The pages are plain files with no heavy libraries, no video and no tracking scripts, so they load quickly even on a weak signal.
Can I print a lesson?
Yes. Use your browser's print command. The menus, buttons and footer are removed automatically so that only the lesson is printed.
Is everything free?
Everything on RCF English is free to read and use. Books and study guides are sold separately through RCF Publications, which is a different website.
