Our Mission
The mission of RCF English is to:
- make English learning clear, practical and accessible;
- provide dependable resources for students and teachers;
- support learners who require additional guidance;
- strengthen English and literature teaching;
- help students prepare confidently for examinations;
- promote guided and independent learning;
- use digital technology to extend educational opportunities;
- support teachers through resources and professional communities; and
- connect learners with suitable classes, publications and educational materials.
What that means in practice
Clear before clever
An explanation that a struggling learner can follow is worth more than one that impresses a strong learner. Every lesson here is written for the student who has not understood it yet.
Guided before independent
No writing task is set without preparation. A learner is shown the task, given a model, walked through the structure, and only then asked to write alone.
Free at the point of use
Every lesson, past paper and activity on this site is free. A learner in a rural school should not be shut out of good material because of what it costs.
Teachers as well as students
A teacher who is supported teaches better. Lesson plans, marking guides and assessment material are given the same care as the student material.
Honest about what is known
Where a fact is not certain, this site says so. Where a schedule or a fee has not been decided, it says that too, rather than inventing a figure.
Built to reach people
Pages are light, work on slow connections and old devices, and can be used with a keyboard or a screen reader.
What this platform does not claim
- It does not promise examination results. Results depend on the student's own work.
- It is not endorsed by, approved by or affiliated with any government department or examination authority.
- It does not present its model answers as official answers.
