Revision Papers
A full paper takes three hours and a whole afternoon to use properly. A revision paper takes thirty minutes, which means you will actually do it.
Why short papers are often more useful
A complete paper is the right instrument in the last two months. Before that it is usually the wrong one: it takes too long, it mixes too many skills together, and the feedback arrives too late to be acted on.
A revision paper on one task — notices, or context questions, or tenses — can be attempted, marked and learnt from in under an hour. Six of those in a term will teach more than two complete papers.
