Associate Diploma

A six-month professional preparatory course for candidates sitting the Associate Diploma, the higher elocution diploma examination of the Colombo Association of Language Skills and Dramatic Art.

Who awards this diploma

The Associate Diploma is awarded by CALSDA — the Colombo Association of Language Skills and Dramatic Art — which also sets and conducts the examination.
RCF Online Academy does not award this diploma. It conducts a preparatory course for candidates who intend to sit the CALSDA examination.

What the course is

A six-month professional preparatory course, conducted online by Rohana Fernando, for candidates who intend to sit the Associate Diploma examination.

The Associate Diploma is the higher of the two elocution diplomas prepared for at the Academy. Candidates should satisfy themselves, with CALSDA, that they are eligible to sit it before enrolling.

How it differs from the Primary Diploma course

Both courses run for six months and are taught the same way: explanation, demonstration, guided practice, independent performance, individual correction and regular revision.

The Associate Diploma course works at a higher level and expects more of a candidate from the outset — more demanding material, longer prepared work, and a greater share of the time spent on independent performance rather than on demonstration.

If you are unsure which of the two suits you, say what you have already done and you will be advised honestly. Being pointed at the right course matters more to us than filling a place in the wrong one.
