What is in here
There are 47 games here across 10 themed units, about 2.8 hours of play in all, covering the ten Grade 4 themes - family and friends, the garden, places around you, work, festivals, shopping, the calendar, games, good practices and happy days.
Everything is free, needs no account, and works on a phone. There is no advertising anywhere in the Game Zone.
The games follow the themes of the Sri Lankan Pupil's Book for the grade, so a child plays the words they are meeting in class that term.
What it practises
- There is and there are, and this, that, these and those - small words that decide whether a sentence sounds right.
- Describing: parts of the body, what a plant has, what a place looks like. Grade 4 is the year a child stops naming things and starts describing them.
- Days, months and dates, which are needed for everything afterwards and are learnt fastest by repetition.
Getting the most from it
Eight of the games at this grade ask for word order. Those are the ones worth repeating: understanding a sentence is easier than building one, and only building it proves the child can use it.
