What a presentation pack is

Each pack is a set of slides for one lesson or one unit, made to be shown on a classroom projector or a screen at home. The slides carry what you would otherwise write on the board: the target language, the examples, the questions, and the tasks in the order you will set them.

They are not a lesson plan with pictures added. A plan tells you what to do; a deck is what the class looks at while you do it. The two work together, and the free lesson plans on this site tell you what a plan should contain.

What is in every pack

  • A title slide and an aim slide, so the class can see what the lesson is for.
  • The language, presented once and clearly - the structure, its form, and two or three examples, on slides a child at the back can read.
  • Practice slides in order, from recognising to producing, with the answers on the slide that follows rather than in a separate file.
  • A task the class can do while the slide stays up, so nobody has to remember the instruction.
  • A closing slide with the homework written out.

How they reach you

Packs are delivered as a link to the file in Google Drive, sent after payment. Nothing is downloaded from this website, and the site never asks for a card number: payment is by bank transfer, arranged directly, with the product code so we know exactly what you have paid for.

You may use a pack with your own classes for as long as you teach, print the slides as handouts, and adapt them. You may not resell it, upload it to a sharing site, or pass the Drive link to another teacher - one purchase is for one teacher.

Using slides well in a crowded classroom

A projector changes what a lesson can do, and it changes what can go wrong. These are worth knowing whether the slides are ours or your own.

  • Do not read the slide aloud. The class can read it. Say the thing the slide does not say.
  • One idea to a slide. A slide holding four points is a slide nobody finishes reading before you move on.
  • Leave the task slide up while the class works. The commonest reason a pupil sits doing nothing is that the instruction has gone from the screen.
  • Check the back row can read it before the lesson, not during it. If you cannot read a slide from the back of your own classroom, neither can they.
  • Have a paper plan too. Electricity fails, and a lesson that only exists on a screen stops with it.

Free first

Everything in the free sections of this website stays free. The lesson plans, worksheets and ESL resources are complete as they are - a presentation pack saves preparation time, it does not unlock anything that was being held back.
