Why there is no list of past papers here

Cambridge distributes most past papers and mark schemes to registered schools through the School Support Hub, not to the public. A site that publishes a shelf of 0500 past papers is either linking to material it is not entitled to share or hosting copies of it.

Ask your teacher or your school's examinations officer. They have access to the Support Hub, and the papers they can give you are the right series for your entry, which matters more than quantity.

The specimen papers are published openly, and for the 2027 syllabus they are the most useful single document available to a candidate, because the paper has been restructured and past papers from earlier series will not show you the new arrangement.

Read the syllabus itself - it is short and it is specific

Almost no student reads the syllabus, and for 0500 it is a mistake. It states, for every question on both papers, exactly which assessment objectives are being tested and how many marks each is worth.

That is not background information. Knowing that Question 2(a) carries five writing marks, or that Question 1(a) on Paper 2 tests R4, tells you how to spend your minutes. It takes twenty minutes to read the assessment sections and it is the highest-value twenty minutes of preparation available.

Original RCF model paper

There is not yet an RCF model paper for 0500. The four GCSE English Language boards each have one - see the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas model papers - and a 0500 pair will follow the same pattern: original texts, verified structure, a separate marking guide and clear labelling as unofficial practice material.

In the meantime, the Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language model paper is useful for the reading-comprehension habits, though its questions are set at a different level and its mark allocations are not the same.
